A Bible Verse For Hope In Suffering

“Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.” (Psalm 119:49-50, NIV)

There are moments in life that feel completely hopeless.

Moments when suffering has drained every bit of strength from us.

Moments when we feel utterly exhausted by our circumstances.

Moments when we can’t see any light on the horizon and everything feels dark.

Moments when we wonder if life will ever feel whole and joyful again.

Suffering is hard. It’s hard for me, and I know it’s hard for you too.

In the midst of those difficult days, weeks, months, and sometimes even years, we need to hold onto a few important truths that remind us of hope:

01 | God is hope. Having a relationship with God means we always have a relationship with hope. When you put your faith in Jesus as your Savior, you enter into an eternal relationship with God. From that moment on, you are forever connected to the One who is your hope.

02 | God gives hope. He doesn’t just embody hope—He actively gives it to us in our darkest moments and on our hardest days. He speaks hope through the words of the Bible. He speaks hope through His people in Christian community. And He speaks hope through prayer, anchoring our souls in His presence and help.

03 | Hope does not dismiss the hard. This Psalm speaks honestly about present suffering. God does not dismiss the pain of what we’re going through—He simply gives us hope right in the middle of it. Hope that denies or dismisses suffering is not true hope.

04 | God’s promises remind us of our hopeful future. In the hardest moments, we must intentionally remind ourselves of God’s promises. They serve as anchors of truth, assuring us that we do have a hope-filled and joyful future ahead. Our suffering will not last forever. Better days are coming.

Never forget this: through Jesus, you will always have hope.

And because of Jesus, there will always be…

Better Days Ahead.

Much Love + Peace,
